Forgegate compiles governed MCP servers from the API estate you already run. Your specs, your policies, your rate limits, inherited by every agent tool it generates.
The problem
MCP is how agents talk to software now. But your systems don't speak it, and getting them there is slow, manual, and risky.
Your estate is thousands of REST APIs behind Apigee, Azure APIM, and Kong. Agents cannot call any of them until someone builds the bridge.
Every hand-built MCP server re-implements authentication, rate limits, and versioning that your API management layer already enforces. Twice the config, twice the drift.
Converting one API takes an engineer days. Converting the whole estate takes quarters of platform team time that nobody has.
How it works
Forgegate reads what you already govern and produces the agent interface your estate was missing.
Point Forgegate at your OpenAPI specs plus policy metadata from your existing API management estate. No migration, no re-platforming.
Operations, auth schemes, rate limits, and timeouts merge into one model. Estate defaults apply everywhere; per-operation overrides win where you set them.
A runnable MCP server is generated, one tool per operation, with your governance inherited. Secrets come from environment variables, never from generated code.
The difference
The gateway lane is crowded. Forgegate is the onboarding plane: it works at build time, on the estate you already have.
Sit in front of your APIs at runtime, another hop in the request path.
Sits before them, at build time. Nothing new in the request path.
Policies get re-configured per tool, by hand, in a second system.
Policies are inherited from the estate you already govern.
Every new agent tool is a new integration project.
Every new API is one compile step away from being agent-ready.
When your policies change, you recompile. Nothing is configured twice.
